WHY

Why? As instability escalates around the globe we must look to the past when “We the Peoples” established the United Nations ‘to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war’
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was the blueprint for Peace.
Prepared in the ashes of World War 11 when the graves were fresh and the vision was clear it accepts the ‘foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world’ requires the recognition of the ‘dignity and…equal …rights of all members of the human family’.
It proclaims that ‘every individual…shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms’.
If the UN fails in its objective, it is not just the people in suits in buildings in New York and Geneva who fail. It is ‘We the peoples’ including our children and grandchildren.
Will we succeed? Probably not! As the war drums resonate across the globe history is against us, as there will always be those prepared to destroy everything most of us hold dear.
Why bother? In my dream by re-energizing Hope, Kindness, Connectedness, Accountability, and Courage the unified voices of “We the Peoples” may silence those drums in perpetuity.
